FRESHNESS
A custom formula guarantees that the formula has not been sitting on a shelf for years, possibly losing some of its effectiveness. Custom formulas are blended when payment is received and shipped out the next day.
POTENCY
Essential oils when applied to the skin must be diluted in carrier oil. A young, healthy individual may use a higher potency formula than those who have medical concerns or those with sensitive irritated skin. Customizing allows the dilution rate and potency to be adjusted accordingly.
SAFETY
There are many essential oils which can be used for the same purposes. Some essential oils that are powerful scalp stimulators cannot be used by those with certain health conditions. Peppermint oil, which is known to have an invigorating effect on hair follicles, should not be used by those with heart problems. Rosemary oil, well known for its positive effects on hair growth, should be avoided by those who are pregnant. Sage oil should not be used by those with high blood pressure. Juniper berry oil should be avoided by those with kidney problems. …The list goes on. Also certain persons may have known allergies to certain aromatherapy ingredients. Customizing allow us to avoid those oils and use equally effective oils that the individual is not allergic to. A generic one-size-fits-all scalp formula limits the essential oils which could be used.
UNIQUE INDIVIDUAL CIRCUMSTANCES
A customized formula takes into account each person’s unique individual conditions. Hair loss is just one aspect to consider. Different oils are considered and incorporated into each formula according to the total scalp and hair condition. Considerations include dry or oily scalp and hair, itchiness, dandruff, rapidly falling hair, sensitive scalp, irritated scalp, fungal or bacterial conditions etc. Even factors such as stress, depression, anxiety, lack of motivation etc, can be taken into consideration; and these factors can be incorporated into the formulas.
HOLISTIC AROMATHERAPY
Customizing aromatherapy formulas based on the “total person” is known as holistic aromatherapy. It was developed by Madame Marguerite Maury, an Austrian-born biochemist who used aromatherapy treatments for her client’s cosmetic problems. As their skin improved, they also reported pleasant and surprising side effects such as better sleep, pain relief, reduced symptoms of rheumatism, increased mental awareness and an overall better feeling.
She began to study the effects of essential oils on emotions and moods. She discovered that she could blend personal aromatic formulas for her clients, which would address their whole system, based on an in-depth consultation and examination.

Custom Hair Loss Formulas
After reviewing the information you provide, your formulas will be blended accordingly. You will receive two separate formulas to be alternated. Each formula will include up to five essential oils. Other effective ingredients such as capsicum, jojoba etc, may be included. Alternating formulas allows your scalp to receive additional benefits. The formulas are sold in a three month supply.
Although you may see a difference in the quality and manageability of hair after the first use, it may take three months or longer to notice reduced hair loss and new growth. Any hair that is already in the “resting phase” of the growth cycle will fall out. Once it goes into the resting phase it is programmed to fall out. Before falling out, hair rests for two to three months. After this resting period the hair will fall out. For the first three months any hair that falls out was already programmed to do so.
Children’s formulas must be carefully blended for safety purposes, according to age and other factors. Certain essential oils cannot be used for small children. Essential oils used for children must be more highly diluted than those used for adults. As the child grows in age more choices are available. Exceptional care is used when creating formulas for children.

Custom Dandruff Formula
There are two types of dandruff, dry dandruff or oily dandruff. Dry dandruff appears as small, loose, white dry flakes that fall off easily and can collect on clothing. Dry dandruff may cause itching that is mild to intense. This condition is often worse in the winter. Oily dandruff appears as larger, tightly packed, greasy, yellowish flakes that adhere to the scalp. Itching is common. Scratching can cause bleeding. Based on information supplied a custom dandruff scalp formula will be blended.

Essential oils and formulas are for external use only. Never ingest an essential oil.
CHILDREN AND PETS
Keep essential oils away from small children and pets. Check safety guidelines before using essential oils on babies and children. Safety guidelines vary according to age. Dilution rates vary according to age of child.
LESS IS MORE
Use only the smallest amount required to produce results. Generally a drop or two is all that is needed for most purposes. Using more will not produce better results and can be toxic.
ALWAYS DILUTE
Dilute essential oils according to established ratio range. Do not use undiluted oils on skin except in rare instances. A small amount of certain oils such as lavender and tea tree can be used undiluted in certain circumstances.
KEEP AWAY FROM SENSITIVE SKIN
Essential oils may produce an unpleasant burning sensation on sensitive areas of the skin such as on the face, near eyes.
IN CASE OF BAD REACTION
Always have a vegetable oil near by in case of bad reaction. Do not wash or rinse with water as water and oil do not mix. Instead apply vegetable oil or carrier oil or whole milk to the irritated area.
ALLERGIC REACTIONS
It is possible to have an allergic reaction to certain essential oils or carrier oils. If you have known allergies to nuts or seeds, avoid using carrier oils and essential oils that are derived from nuts or seeds. It is advisable to conduct a patch test for allergies or sensitivities. Before using any essential oil for the first time, do a skin patch test to check for allergic reaction or sensitivity.
PATCH TEST
Apply the essential oil (in a 2% dilution) or formula into the inside crook of the elbow. Wait 12 hours to see if there is any irritation, redness or itchiness. Do not use if irritation occurs.
PHOTOTOXICITY
Certain essential oils are phototoxic and will cause skin pigmentation if exposed to direct sun. Avoid bergamot, ginger, lemon, orange, and grapefruit when skin will be exposed directly to the sun.
TOXICITY IN LARGE AMOUNTS
Use sparingly and always in proper dilution, Certain oils such as basil, cedarwood, eucalyptus, juniper, sage, and West Indian bay can be toxic or produce a feeling of stupor if used in large amounts or over a prolonged period of time.
FLAMMABILITY
Essential oils are highly flammable. Keep away from flame, heat and ignition sources.
